ANN’S STORY
Ann Stoney is a writer based in NYC. Her stories have appeared in numerous literary journals including the Tampa Review, PIF Magazine, Cleaver Magazine and Monkeybicycle. She is a winner of the Tampa Review Danahy Fiction Prize, and the Live Wire Press Fiction Prize, her writing anthologized in several Live Wire Press volumes entitled, In Good Company. She has been recognized in other contests as well, including the Cutthroat Journal Rick De Marinis Short Story Prize, and the American Literary Review Fiction Contest. She was a featured reader at the Festival of Writers in Rensselaerville, NY, and is a reviewer for the Bellevue Literary Review. She has studied writing at the 92nd Street Y, various writing conferences and with private instructors.
A true Gemini, Ann has lived several lives—all of which have fueled her writing—working in NYC and regionally, as an actress, song writer, playwright, and educator. She holds a BFA in Acting from NYU, and an MFA in Literacy from Jersey City State College. She performed her original songs in various clubs throughout the metropolitan area, and her play, The Money’s Out There, was performed at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in NYC.
